Sexual anhedonia, lack of sexual pleasure

What is sexual anhedonia?

Sexual anhedonia generally refers to the lack of pleasure during sex. Whereas many women and some men live with coital anorgasmia without suffering unduly, sexual anhedonia often creates a strong frustration in both partners, and often leads to a refusal of sexual intercourse.

Sexual anhedonia leads to reduced desire

Sexual anhedonia often leads to hypoactive sexual desire disorder. When there is no pleasure, there is no expectation of pleasure, and consequently less desire.

Treating sexual anhedonia

As for the inability to achieve an orgasm during sex, sexual anhedonia can be cured. Sex therapy is the main form of treatment for sexual anhedonia.
